Postcards from: Solomon Islands

Dr Mills is currently on assignment in Honiara’s National Referral Hospital (NRH) Emergency Department as an Emergency Consultant Advisor as part of the Solomon Islands Graduate Intern Supervision and Support Project (SIGISSP), funded by the Australian Government’s Aid Program and managed by AVI.

In the five months Dr Mills has been posted to the NRH, enormous strides have been made. Working in close partnership with NRH staff, the capacity of the hospital’s Emergency Services have been significantly strengthened.

Together, they are building a robust emergency medical workforce, ensuring every patient can access the basic human right of quality healthcare services. A must read!
